Program Description

The UNICEF Venture Fund invests in early-stage, open-source technology solutions that have the potential to benefit children and young people in developing countries. The fund is particularly interested in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science applications.

Selected startups receive up to $100,000 in equity-free funding, product and technology mentorship from UNICEF innovation specialists, access to UNICEF country offices for piloting, and visibility through UNICEF's global communications channels.

Eligibility Guidelines

  • Applicants must be citizens of an African country, or currently registered in an accredited African tertiary academic institution.
